When you plan a marketing campaign called "Love the Whitsundays" scheduled to run from the 1st March to the 31st March maybe I expect too much when I expect it will run from the 1st March to the 31st March?
Putting it on the TW website on the 3rd March is ridiculous. Tourism Whitsundays take great pleasure in telling members that 360,000 unique visitors view the website each year, thats almost 1000 every day.
Putting the campaign on the site on the 3rd means 3000 people would not have seen the promotion, thats 3000 people who will not return to the site, 3000 unique visitors who do not know about the "Love the Whitsundays" promotional campaign and probably never will. 3000 missed opportunities.
How many missed bookings?
Members paid to be included in the promotion to run for 31 days, I wonder if they will get a partial refund???
90% acheivment 0% effort and planning...not good enough TW

Not "Where's Wally" but "Where's Airlie Beach"
Back on the 15th February 2011 I, along with 681 others, received a tweet from Tourism Whitsundays sent from AIME announcing the following
WhitsundaysQLD Tourism Whitsundays
Anthony Hayes and Tourism Queensland launch www.queenslandincentives.com at AIME http://yfrog.com/hskvyygj
Good initiative, we need all the help we can get, but when you look at the site there is not a single mention of Airlie Beach, the mainland or a single operator other than Hamilton and Hayman Islands.
When I raised this with TW I received the following reply
WhitsundaysQLD Tourism Whitsundays

@PABSMB Haven't had a chance to browse it yet but if that's the case we'll have to get onto key operators to supply info!
Firstly I have to ask why hav'nt you "browsed" it prior to tweeting if not prior to publication?
Then I get this
WhitsundaysQLD Tourism Whitsundays

@PABSMB Spoke to TQ earlier & submitted alternate content. 5 & 7 day itineraries inc. Airlie still to be uploaded.
That all took place 21 days ago now and still no one has bothered to upload the itineraries which include Airlie Beach and mainland.
It seems that no one at TW or TQ are in any rush to put this right, meanwhile people are being laid off and leaving the region.
Quite frankly this is not good enough by a long way.
